My Story

Hello My name is R’Yana Michele Oyabisi Anthony (I prefer she/they pronouns and Oyabisi at the moment).

I am the founding Experience Architect of High Priestess Sanctuaries. High Priestess Sanctuaries is a healing hospitality business crafting leisure experiences that amplify black women and femme pleasure and joy.

I learned how to take good care of black people from my grandmother, Pearlie Helen Brooks Cole. As community matriarch and queen mother, she hosted us with care, love, and nourishing culinary masterpieces. As an Earth Dagara, I create and facilitate authenticity, home, and belonging. I have been crafting events and retreats for 14 years. Detail oriented Virgo tendencies craft experiences that center Black and Indigenous technology.

I am obsessed with taking empty boxes and building something new, creative, and elevated. (*cue Wide Open Spaces*) High Priestess Sanctuaries is a solution to the largely male and white driven hospitality industry that is pigeon-holed into crafting enjoyment for that demographic only.

I am also a wellness and spiritual practitioner - and energy is everything! NO one should have to endure erosion of their peace and sanity from a bad curation experience. I make my clients know that I am listening and provide support to make visions become reality. I blend my synchronicity skills with a divine intuition to create oases of Black cool.

In my past lives, I was an organizer and organizational consultant for 15 years equipping organizations and communities to build power and dignity. I hold a BA in Psychology and an M.Ed. in Community Development and Action (Community Psychology) and specialize in leadership development, community based mental health interventions, and building healing organizational cultures.
