High Priestess Sanctuaries (HiP) is a afro-matriarchal creative design and development agency operating healing hospitality and land stewardship concepts for relaxation, transformation, and play. HiP envisions a multi-locale syndicate of communal lodging, restaurants, retreats, and private events attuned to facilitate comfort and belonging for black women and gender expansive femmes.

HiP Sanctuaries practices spirit & social conscious place making and fosters unapologetically Black community building at the intersections of healing, organizing, & artistry.
All spaces are designed to be high frequency healing portals centering the sensibilities of conscious black femmes, queer, + trans people.

Hello!
My name is R’Yana Michele Oyabisi Anthony. I prefer she/they pronouns and Oyabisi at the moment. I am the founding Experience Architect of High Priestess Sanctuaries Afro-Matriarchal Development.
I am a Black queer Southern ritualmaker and healing artist. As an Earth Dagara, I create and facilitate authenticity, home, and belonging.
I came into this world on a mission to: create expressions of the divine mother through pleasurable sanctuary building, healing arts, and land stewardship.
I dream of a world full of magic and liberation for black people and seeks to create interventions for the complete wholeness of Black community.

My Story

I learned how to take good care of black people from my grandmother, Pearlie Helen Brooks Cole. As community matriarch and queen mother, she hosted us with care, love, and nourishing culinary masterpieces. On the other side of greed, exploitation, and oppresion bred by white patriarchal capitalism and imperialism is a return to the restored planet. A vision for a communally focused, femme led, joyful way of cultivating life.

I have been crafting events and retreats for 16 years. I transform empty boxes into something new, creative, and elevated. (*cue Wide Open Spaces*) High Priestess Sanctuaries is a solution to the largely male and white driven hospitality industry that is pigeon-holed into crafting enjoyment for that demographic only.

I am a wellness and spiritual practitioner and energy is everything! NO one should have to endure erosion of their peace and sanity from a bad curation experience. I blend my synchronicity skills with a divine intuition to create oases of Black cool.
